Kiteboarding Lessons

Kiteboarding is one of the newest sports to hit the water scene. We teach the sport on the uncrowded beaches of lower Cape Cod. Our beaches are some of the best beaches to learn on in New England.

Pick up any kiteboarding magazine and all will heavily advise lessons when it comes to learning the sport. Although not terribly difficult, there is a learning curve and a thorough lesson will only enhance your experience. You will be much less discouraged and will probably continue to pursue the sport.

Little Overhead Surf and Kiteboard Shop is owned by Sebastian Frawley, a kiteboarder and surfer himself. He is PASA (Professional Air Sports Association) certified and requires all of his instructors to be certified as well. He is fully experienced and augments this by continually observing how other teachers teach. As a matter of fact, he sacrificed a winter in Miami (!!!!) to learn other methods of teaching and learning. This is instrumental in providing you with the best methods of teaching to make your experience the safest and best it can be.

We get you WET on your first lesson, something a lot of instructors are unable to confidently do. This means no more wasting expensive lesson time learning on kites you don't actually use kiteboarding. Also during your first lesson you learn all about the equipment and how to properly use it and care for it. You will also learn self rescue, launching, landing, staying up wind and body dragging. These are all the essentials for a safe and enjoyable kiteboarding career.

A second lesson is highly recommended to round out your experience. You are taught how to stay up wind, how to control your speed, and experience a lot of board time. Hopefully you will be getting air by the end of this lesson. If not you will have the skills needed to successfully accomplish this on your own.
